Invisalign Success Agreement
Below is a list of ideas and suggestions to aid you in the success of your orthodontic treatment. Good Luck, I know you will do great!
HOME CARE KIT
: This is a complete kit full of items to aid in your Invisalign treatment. In It you will find: a case for storing Invisalign trays, cleaning crystals, a nail file, tray hook, hand sanitizer, and chewies.
ORAL HYGIENE
: We ask that you remove your trays before eating or drinking anything other than water. We also ask that you brush your teeth before placing your trays back in your mouth. This minimizes your chances of getting cavities.
SORENESS
: There may be an achy sensation or soreness once you start your Invisalign. You may take Motrin or Ibuprofen as you would take for a headache to alleviate the tenderness. Each week of changing your aligners will have less and less soreness or tenderness or none at all.
WEAR TIME
: It is recommended that you wear your trays as close to
22 hours/day
as possible. This will ensure correct movement of you
r teeth. You will change your trays every 7 days unless otherwise prescribed by Dr. Benton or Dr. Barry.
BROKEN ATTACHMENTS/LOST TRAYS
: If an attachment(s) comes off please notify the office immediately. We can schedule you to come in as an Emergency to repair the attachment(s) OR we will order a template to repair the attachment(s) at your next visit. If you lose a tray please notify the office immediately. We can order a replacement tray so you do not lose time off of your treatment.
EMERGENCY
: If you experience extreme pain, swelling, or have an injury that cannot wait until your next scheduled appointment, please contact 911 or the emergency room. You may contact or follow up with our office during normal operating hours at 256-237-1537.
APPOINTMENTS
: Dr. Benton and Dr. Barry will request appointments at specific intervals to keep your treatment progressing toward your bright new smile. It is important to keep each appointment. However, if you must cancel an appointment, please call our office ASAP and we will reschedule the appointment. Please note that excessive cancellations can prolong your orthodontic treatment, so make it a priority to keep all your appointments.
